    Publicity - Christmas Dance

Post  Carlo on Fri Dec 03, 2010 3:23 am

    Hi all,

Just letting you know that you really need to start pushing that publicity for the dance. Veronica has printed some AMAZING posters, and the announcements and all are fine, but to get people to actually go you have to talk to them, let them know how much fun it'll be. Last year's dance had a great turnout because of the publicity.

A bad dance is publicity's fault.
A good dance is publicity's achievement.
Yes we do (I think?) have a Publicity Committee but you are ALL responsible for letting people know about the event. Don't piss people off in the process, if you do, people won't listen to you.

The Facebook event has a mere 69 Attendings - we can do better than this! Tell your friends to change their 'Awaiting Reply' and 'Maybe Attending' to 'Attending'. Let your friends know. We should probably even go to roll calls early next week. (Year 11/12s have assessment period so we can't help out - sorry!) The point is, EVERYONE needs to know and we need AS MANY people to go as possible (as in... a sensible number, of course!). Please don't let us down!

We are all going to rollcalls and publicizing this dance! announcements don't really work. we need a new personal approach. if you checked edmodo, you wouldve seen my fabulous suggestions on how to reach out to particular grades. Wink but yeah ms Lawson said we should really reach out to the older kids because they all think it's a junior school thing.
emphasise to the year 12s that it'll be their last Christmas dance!!!!!

your right. we need to personally advertise this dance, cause no one listens to announcements now.

    yeah
the event on facebook, didn't work out too well
because, no one replied to it.
and i don't think that people check it.
i invited heaps of people, and asked others to invite others as well
but only 100 or so people replied.
