This is for the games committee so we can organise our games on here Smile

    So far we've got:

    • Sideshow alley type thing and under that:
      Balloon popping

And things which were hanging in the air were,
    The ping pong thing
The thowing the ball at cans thing
    Is that it??

    hi guys Smile
I've gotten a quote from a planet entertainment in gladesville where we can get the laughing clown machines. they'll cost $63 for 24hr hire. which I think is pretty reasonable. do you reckon we'll be able to make a profit from it?
I've also asked for quotes for an actual milkcan toss thing as well as a knock em down machine. if they're not too expensive, I suppose we could have one of those as well.
I wad going to ask for the duck pond but I think that would be too hard to operate.
but yeah, I'll keep you guys posted on that. but tell me your thoughts on the clown heads because if we are getting them, I need to confirm with them asap.
also where would we put them?
    is there anyone with a car that can fit a machine of 3m x 3m x 4m?
    and prizes? prices?
    Thanks guys!!

    Hey guys,

I know I am in this committee but because I've got big exams coming up I'll just offer some helpful words of wisdom.

You guys should make sure you know for certain EVERYTHING you're getting for the dance BY FRIDAY and let relevant people know (ie if you're ordering the clown heads - I sent Poppy an email re. this but it's dependent on whether or not we can make a profit from it) so that we don't get into last minute hassles. It's also a good idea, if you're going to set up the sideshow alley, to let the Decoations Committee know so that they can incorporate this into a floor plan. (Deco Committee... there is a floor plan, right? If not, there should be!)

I'm all for the clown machine Smile
How much do you want to charge to play it?
$1 or is that too lesS?? or too much ??
and by that we can kinda judge whether we're going to make a profit Smile

basically, you get 5 pingpong balls and you have to get 5 or 30 to win a major prize. and 8,11,16, 25 or 26 for a small prize. we can cut those numbers down if we want to be stingy I suppose. I think $1 for a go is pretty good.
    is there anyone with a car that can hold a machine of 4m x 3m x 3m?

    Thanks Ali Smile
also, are there any games we can play apart from musical boys?
also, we can't do the balloon and darts because it's "dangerous". so if we can't get the clown heads, then we'll need something + musical boys.
    ideas guys?

that is quite carnivally. but do you reckon people will actually pay money to topple milk cans over? I gues it wouldn't cost too much to set up though.
also, we definitely can't get the clown heads so we need some more ideas!!

can anyone do magic tricks or something like that?
and i don't know if many people will pay for the cup toppling one , so we could go with that as last option.

magic tricks would be so rad! but a selective school audience would be really hard to please. all the smart year sevens will be like lol I know how that works. I guess we could do pin the nose onthe clown. but I don't think people would pay money for that either. :/

What would you find in a sideshow, which is fun, and people would pay for, and we can have in our hall, and is within our budget? (And is not a clown heads thing... Grrr.)

I don't understand, have we fully transitioned to edmodo yet?

Maybe we should stay on this forum for now, because half the info is here and the rest on edmodo. Eg are we getting the clown machine thing or not? because on edmodo charmaine said that there was a typo and it was actually too expensive...?

And what happened to the gelato? wrong topic i know

guys i've been away for a while so i'm a bit confused and dazzled about what's going on but what i've read so far in this commitee and another, it sounds like it is going well:)

i was thinking, for a game, why don't we do some kind of hula hoop challenge?! like a few people stand in a row at a time and try to have the hula hoop spinning around for the longest? i don't know, sounds kind of lame but it was just a suggestion:)
or what about balloon darts? like pop the balloons with darts?
with boys and mainly basketball asians, maybe we could have some kind of basketball hoop game thing where a person has to shoot as many times as they can in a hoop with a basketball without letting it out and they get further and further back as it proceeds?
or a bubket kind of game where a person has to throw a ball into a large bucket, the catch being you have to make sure it stays there and the buckets could be hanging sideways?

just some game suggestions even if i'm not in the games commitee:)

I think it's a good idea to keep both the forum and Edmodo, at least for now, because in terms of layout the forum is easier to organise different threads.

Also Ali, could you possibly remove the group code off the other thread? Sorry about that, it's just that anyone can see this forum, which means then anyone can join our group on Edmodo, and... that's not how it's supposed to work. Razz
